Welcome Back PR Students!

Welcome back to Marist students returning from the winter break. I hope you had a wonderful holiday and a relaxing vacation. A special welcome to students in my COM370 Public Relations classes, my academic advisees, and members of our Marist Red Foxes PRSSA Chapter. We have an exciting semester ahead.

For COM370 students, check our iLearn site for details about the course. Required texts include:
  • Seitel, F. (2011). The practice of public relations (11th ed). Upper Saddle River, NJ: Prentice Hall. (ISBN 9780136088905)
  • Hacker, D. (2009). A writer's reference (6th ed.). Boston: Bedford/St. Martin’s. (ISBN: 9780312593322)
  • Christian, D., Jacobsen, S., & Minthorn, D. (Eds.). (2010). The Associated Press Stylebook. Boston: The Associated Press. (ISBN 9780917360541)
For my academic advisees, check my iLearn advising site and stay tuned for an announcement about key advising and registration dates for the spring semester.

For PRSSA members, check in with President Sabrina Clark and Vice President Alexis Murphy for details about the first general and board meetings, plans for spring projects, etc. The chapter needs volunteers to staff the PRSSA table during the spring Activities Fair on Wednesday, Jan. 26, during activity hour. There will be two shifts: 11:00-12:30 and 12:30-2:00. Contact Alexis Murphy via maristprssa@gmail.com if you can help out.

My spring office hours will be:
  • Mondays: 10-11 a.m.
  • Tuesdays: (by appointment only)
  • Wednesdays: 10-11 a.m.; 2-4 p.m.
  • Thursdays: 10-11 a.m.
Contact me if you have any questions. Again, welcome back!

Mark
